Gatorland
Located just down the road a piece is the 110 acre park and wildlife
preserve known as Gatorland, opened in 1949 as a roadside attraction.
With thousands of gators, crocs, breeding marsh with observation tower,
nature walk, petting zoo, an aviary, educational shows and Gator
Wrestlin'..also Gator Jumparoo and up-close Encounters Show, this is one
day you will be thrilled to the limit. Their
newest exhibit features 4 rare white alligators, each 10 to 12 feet long
and weighing in at over 800 pounds. with bright blue eyes, they are
believed to have the ability to grant good fortune, if you are fortunate
enough to be able to look them in the eyes. The Gatorland Roadshow
includes gator wrestling, lizards, pythons and various animals that
includes a discussion about them and allows for the touching, feeling
and thrill of being next to an amazing creature. They also have a live
display at the Gaylord Palms. Gatorland is located only
fifteen minutes away and easy to get to following Rt. 192.
Also on site, is the gift shop with many marvelous items for you
memories of Gatorland, a train ride giving you a thorough first hand
look at this exciting park. The restaurant is right there for you
to enjoy many delicacies of the area, as well as regular fare.
